The Oh-No Bird
The Oh-No bird is always seen in the company of a little bossy ladybug. Although Oh-No is many times bigger then the ladybug, she always speaks sheepishly to the bug, fearful of something happening to her.

Hoot'a
Hoot'a-(Fredster*) is the middle child and the one who truly loves being a Minihoonie. He loves swimming, fishing and hopes to grow up just like Poppahoonie. He does not want to be like his older brother, McKool. Hoot'a is the one whose good deeds and helpful ways are constantly getting him in trouble and innocently goofing up the schemes of McKool. Hoot'a loves his pets and takes very good care of Oh-No and Lizzie. The one thing that could be called a problem pet is Captain Crabbie who thinks Hoot'a is trying to take the treasure that is buried in the old sailing ship, grounded on Kauai. Hoot'a always wears native shorts where McKool is always trying to get the latest trends from the North Short or California.

McKool
The oldest of the three Hoonie children. McKool in his mind is not a Minihoonie because they are not cool enough. He's a surfer like those in California...Surf City and the likes. He loves his younger brother and sister, but calls Hoot'a, Fredster, a much cooler name than his Minihoonie name. He calls his little sister Kona, a cool name from the little brown coffee bean. McKool, like his Dad loves to get out and check the latest happenings. The trouble begins when he takes Hoot'a or Miniminnie with him and they compound his problems.

Mommahoonie
This is truly "the boss" in the Hoonie family. Mommahoonie rules with an iron fist, but that fist is in a velvet glove when it comers to her family. She is a large woman that goes about her work from dawn to dusk. She is constantly singing or humming the songs and ballads of Queen Lili'uokalani. Her only vice is playing Hawaiian checkers with the kids. When she starts to lose, something will come up where she has to go. Miniminnie, the baby, is very special to her for it is her baby. When they have to go somewhere Mommahoonie gather the kids up like a mother hen gathers her chicks in the barnyard.

Tootoohoonie
Tootoohoonie is the grandparent of the Hoonie family. He is very old and crotchety, but deep down inside he has a great big heart. He doesn't ever leave the Minihoonie Village because besides being the grandfather he is also the Mayor. Tootoohoonie lives over the General Store and is available to the town folk day or night. Just don't get him up at night.

Papahoonie
totally embodies the Minihoonie spirit of repairing broken items for local people. Poppahoonie sometimes works at night then naps during the day. He works on "Hawaiian Time" and leaves the kids and the household affairs to Mommahoonie. A kind soul, he loves everyone and loves to tell fables and tall tales. On hot afternoons, Poppahoonie wil sit with the kids near the Minihoonie General Store. The store is carved into the oldest Banyon tree on Kauai by the early Minihoonies. He wears bib overalls with the legs cut off. He always has a tool or two hanging on his pants or over his shoulder. When the Minihoonies travel to other islands to help someone, Poppahoonies is always sneaking over to Sears to look at tools. Poppahoonie is smaller than his wife.

Miniminnie
Miniminnie is the youngest of the Hoonie children. She is adorable to everyone who meets her. Her honest and curiosity are always getting the boys in trouble on their different adventures to the other islands and later, internationally. The one thing that works to her advantage is her size. In certain cases, she can get n and out of places no one else can. Though she likes the pets, she is to young to be responsible for them. One animal she can and does charm though is Captain Crabbie. She melts his grouchy disposition in a short time.

Teeko Geeko
(alternate Lizzie the Lizard) the smallest of the three primary pets in the Hoonie family, Lizzie goes everywhere with Hoot'a. Most of the Minihoonies don't like Lizzie because she's a mix of Gecko and Japanese Lizard. Lizzie doesn't speak, but can give out screeches and other shrill sounds.

Captain Crabbie
Captain Crabbie is the only surviving thing that knows where the treasure chests are buried. That is until Hoot'a and Miniminnie find the ship and Captain Crabbie. He is a soft shell crab so he is supposed to wear a shell for protection. Captain Crabbie wears hats from the ship instead of shells. He also wears old boots over his claws so when he walks he makes a splashing sound. That's how Hoot'a and Miniminnie know when he is coming.
